STEPHEN HEYDE Violin/Viola

10aDAY FOUNDER, CONDUCTOR, PERFORMER, Stephen Heyde's goal is "to help every young player get a better start in the Orchestra." Stephen is a former High School Orchestra Director who brings a love of working with young people, and a wealth of experience to 10aDay.

Conductor-In-Residence at Baylor University, as well as the Mary Franks Thompson Professor of Orchestral Studies, Steve has a thorough knowledge of the needs of beginning String Students. As Conductor/Music Director of the Waco Symphony, he regularly works with professional soloists from around the globe, and as Conductor of All State Orchestras in several states, he has a longstanding interest in expanding School Orchestra Programs around the country.

Stephen has been honored by the West Virginia Department of Education for "Significant Professional Achievement." He has conducted Orchestras in Indianapolis, Fort Worth, Tulsa, Austin, and Oakland, as well as a number of Collegiate Operas.
